Setting a Solid Foundation

I start beginners with a couple hour land lesson.  Normally takes about 2 hours.  By taking water out of the equation you can aim your concentration where it needs to be – the kite!!! I like to say kiteboarding is 80% kite flying and 19% board riding.

Skills to be learned include:

  • gear set up and break down of a 4 or 5 line inflatable kite
  • proper use of the kites safety and trim/depower systems
  • launching and landing another kiter
  • safe launching and landing with the help of another kiter
  • demonstrate proper kite piloting
  • on land self-rescue/solo kite recovery

About that last 1%… 😛
